If you’ve been thinking about starting a mom blog this post is for you. Here is why I believe every Mom should start a blog. Ready to get started now? Start HERE.

Starting a blog can feel really scary and intimidating at first. When I first decided I wanted to start a blog I remember being nervous and thinking to myself “can I do this?”

The answer was yes. I could do it, but at the time the fear of not knowing how or what to do next was almost paralyzing.

When I think of starting a blog I feeling like it’s a lot like Motherhood. You can never really be fully prepared for something you’ve never done.

Yes you can take courses, read all the books and talk to other bloggers (all of this is super helpful by the way) but no amount of research will actually prepare you for what to do besides actually doing it yourself. And let me tell you, you WILL learn as you go.  You WILL figure out the next step.

Starting my blog changed me. Not to sound dramatic but it really did! I have learned a lot! I’ve built an entrepreneur mindset, gained confidence and made money!

I BELIEVE THAT EVERY MOM SHOULD HAVE A BLOG

Women used to raise their babies in tribes. I feel like Mom blogs are the modern version of that. I mean, I have learned so much from other Mom bloggers!

I have spent a lot of time reading other Mom blogs and I have gained so much insight on Motherhood. I’ve learned important tips and tricks for things like:

  • organizing
  • switching to more non-toxic products
  • cooking
  • teaching kids
  • parenting
  • being prepared
  • budgeting
  • homemaking

the list goes on and on. These are things no one would have taught me otherwise and I love those Mom Bloggers for that.

I’ve learned about thing I would have never thought of myself like DIY sensory games for toddlers or how to minimize clutter to make sure you aren’t overstimulating your kids.

So I’ll say it again,

I BELIEVE THAT EVERY MOM SHOULD HAVE A BLOG BECAUSE WE ALL HAVE SO MUCH TO TEACH EACH OTHER.

Much like blogging there is no guide or “how to” to motherhood. We all do it differently and we all do it to the best of our abilities, imagine if we could all share all of our ideas with each other?

But, Isn't Blogging Dead?

Absolutely not. I have blog friends that get 1 million views per month. That’s A LOT of people. 200,000 is a lot of people. 5,000 people is a lot. Trust me, people love blogs.

I’d even go on to argue that Blogging is a way of the future. It’s only going to keep growing.  The opportunities will only keep growing, the sooner you start the quicker you’ll get there.

Can I Make Money Blogging?

Honestly? SKY’S THE LIMIT. You can make millions blogging if you wanted to and worked hard enough for it.

You could replace your income, your husband’s income and start your own company if you really wanted to. Or you could keep it a side hustle and get some extra spending cash. It is up to you!

Blogs can make money from so many different things like:

  • affiliate marketing (Amazon, Liketoknowit)
  • paid sponsorships (brands you love)
  • AD’s
  • selling a physical product (t-shirts, planners, mugs)
  • selling a digital product (courses, coaching, printables)

Now don’t get overwhelmed, there are a lot of ways to make money. My advice would be to pick one and then slowly add more streams of income as you go.

Isn't The Mom Blog Industry Is Already Too Competitive

FALSE! There is more than enough room for you, me and everyone else. Why? Because we all have different things to say. We all have different ideas, thoughts and approches to being a Mom.

The individuality that is you, no one can replicate. Which means, there is a place for you in the Mom Blogging world.

Remember when I said I’ve learned so much from other Mom bloggers? That could be you teaching me things I have never thought of  before!

Like your famous roast chicken recipe (I would like to try that!) or how you potty trained your 3 year old in two days or how you schedule your Morning to get all six of your kids dressed and homeschooled everyday.

You have something to teach others whether you realize it or not.

What Do I Write About?

People say you need to be an expert to write on a specific topic, but when it comes to Motherhood, I don’t think that applies because there is no expert in Motherhood.

If you want to write a money-making blog then your blogs purpose will be to teach people. Write about things you love and enjoy.

Motherhood blog topic ideas:

  • recipes
  • parenting
  • organizing
  • cleaning
  • breastfeeding
  • birthday parties
  • schooling
  • mom guilt
  • postpartum
  • pregnancy

The topics are endless when it comes to motherhood. I would highly suggest writing about things that you relate or about what season of motherhood you are in. I find in my own life that these post are the most relatable. For example, it would be hard to write about newborn’s if you’re in an empty nester with adult children.

When Should I Start A Mom Blog?

Right now! If you have been wanting to start a blog that makes money it will never happen if you don’t take action.

The sooner you start, you’ll be that much the more ahead than if you decided to start a month from now.

Everyday on your blog will be a learning experience especially in that first year, so learning a month’s worth of information is a lot! Which is why the sooner you start the sooner you’ll reach your goals!
