When I think of a cozy autumn home, I think of fuzzy blankets, candles, good food and an overall stress-free environment. We basically want a subtle trigger of all of our senses, just perfectly to make your space a feel good and happy place.

For me, I always feel pretty excited whenever I see a friend or family member in my house grab a blanket and totally unwind. Knowing that I am creating a space that brings a safe and inviting vibe to others makes me feel good especially after a thanksgiving dinner.

The holidays are my absolute favorite time of the year to really focus on a creating a cozy home. I’m not sure if it’s the cold weather, the no-reason-needed to bake cookies or just the tradition of holiday festivities but something about the holiday season makes me so crave that warm fuzzy feeling. Grab my fall bucket list here.

So how do we create cozy?

Colors and Lighting

Typically cozy colors are warm. Reds, oranges, yellows. I am a big believer in seasonal vibes and luckily Fall is all about warm colors.

Lighting is for me the biggest key in creating coziness. With overwhelming lighting like ceiling lights it’s hard to relax and feel as clam as you would in a dimmer room.

So opt for lamps and string lights throughout your spaces.

Textures

My favorite part about coziness is adding in different textures. Fuzzy blankets, woven pumpkins, velvet throw pillows etc. When fall comes around I love the idea of felt pom pom garlands or touches of velvet.

Front door & Entry Way

When it comes to the front porch, the bigger the better!

My favorite fall porch trends are big signs and welcome rug and mat combos along with pumpkin stacks!

I thing adding layers is so much fun and brings an inviting welcome.

When deciding what kind of wreath you choose, you should take into account the color of your front door, you don’t want them to clash. You want them to contrast.

Living Room

The living room is goin to be the comfy area to relax after a warm meal or perfect for movie night. Adding a pop of fall color in your living space will warm up the feel! I love blankets and pillows to your couch to

Adding a tier with simple fall decor items is my favorite thing to put on the kitchen counter for fall (psst adding a tier to your decor works for every season!)

It’s simple but give the entire room a display piece to focus on.

The key when decorating a tier is to add mini everything’s! I even found these mini rolling pins that I thought were perfect for the kitchen counter.

A great way to warm up your kitchen space is by adding greenery! Placing leaves or fall garlands along the top of your cabinets changes the entire atmosphere of the room.

Make it extra fun by adding battery remote controlled lights in with your leaves will make all the difference when creating those warm & cozy fall vibes.

Dinning Area

Gathering is such an important part of the holiday season! You can keep it simple by adding a touch of fall decor or you can create a gorgeous center piece.
