25 Fall Activities For Toddlers You Must Try + FREE Printables

Being a stay at home Mom I am always looking for new activities to keep my little ones entertained but there is just something extra special about doing seasonal crafts!

I think it’s because it helps make them excited for the season and Holidays that come along with it or maybe it’s because I love using their creations as part of my decor hahaha.

Anyways I found the cutest Fall activities for toddlers I had to make a whole post about them. Trust me you’re going to have a tough time deciding which crafts to actually do. 

Some are pretty mess free too which is such a win!

Fall Activities for Toddlers

I always try to make crafts easy and stress-free fun! So use what you have, use different paper, colors and make it your own. And get ready to watch some magic happen with these fun Fall crafts!

1. Hands Wreath

These easy to make and super adorable tiny hands wreaths are the perfect fall craft for preschoolers and toddlers of all ages!

All you need is a few items and you probably already have them on hand – get it? On hand? haha. I couldn’t help myself with that one.

2. Handprint Acorn

These handprint acorns are not only super cute but also very easy!

All you’ll need is some construction paper, a black marker, some scissors and eyes – which you draw, could print out or swap for the googly ones!

3. Scarecrow Puppets

The kids always love making puppets because they can create their own little character. 

It would be so fun if you read them a scarecrow book before this activity to help inspire them depending on how old they are you could even have them make up their own story using their puppet. Looks like it’s time for a puppet show.

4. Candy Corn Noodle

Hello adorable candy corn craft! I love pretty much any craft that involves dry pasta – or is that just me?

I love the variation of fall colors used for this project.

All you need to do is draw your candy corn outline let the kids color them. Then you could add some pasta in a ziplock with some paint and create different colored pasta to glue on.

5. Life Size Scarecrow

I love this idea of tracing the kids outline and them being able to create their own life-sized scarecrow! 

You’ll just need to add the face, hat and overalls then let them paint away!

All you’ll need is some of this large brown paper, paint, brushes and an art smock for the kids.

You can also you styrofoam boards to use for your paint.

 

6. Finger Paint Fall Tree

This craft is simple and super fun.

All you need is a paper plate, fall colors and a print out a tree branch template. I found this one for free to print.

7. Turkey Painting

This turkey painting project is perfect for Fall all you need is butcher paper, tape and paint!!

The kids are sure to love this project just make sure you get the super washable paint to avoid any permanent wall murals haha.

8. Lego Pumpkin

Taking a simple lego and turning it into a stap is such a fun way for the kids to use their fine motor skills!

9. Fall Sticks Truck

Create a popsicle stick truck and load it up with pumpkins!

10. Puffy Paint Caramel Apples

I don’t why about you guys but I am obsessed with puffy paint! I love the way it looks – it had such a fun texture to a project. What better way to use puffy paint than on a caramel apple?

11. Leaf Sun Catchers

These will be displayed all over my windows this year! These are so fun and make the perfect keepsake craft that you can hang in your home every year and add to your collection as well.

12. Leaf Windstocks

Save your paper towel/toilet paper rolls cause you’re going to need them. I absolutely love these and so will the kids!

13. Handprint Sunflower

My kids love anything that involves tracing their hands so this handprint which makes this sunflower craft so much fun.

13. Scarecrow faces

Cut out some circles from an old amazon box and crate these scarecrow faces! You could also use paper plates or just paper if that’s all that you have on hand.

14. Gratitude Chain

Make this gratitude chain this Fall in the spirit of Thanksgiving. We will definitely be doing this and hanging it in our homeschool area.

15. Leaf Hair

This is the perfect craft if you’re looking to do something really easy! No cutting no glitter non of the messy stuff. You’ll just need a face print out and some leaves!

16. Corn Mosaic

I love mosaic art projects! Your toddlers will have so much fun making this harvest corn as an art project this year.

17. Burlap Pumpkin Pies

I am a sucker for a reading comprehension activity! Find a good pumpkin pie book and after the story have the kids make their very own slice of pie!

There are plenty of pumpkin pie books for kids that would be the perfect pairing for this craft!

And you’ll only need a few things to create this perfect pumpkin pie craft.

18. Paper Bag Pumpkin

These DIY pumpkin paper bags are always a ton of fun! Fill a paper bag with newspaper and tie it off with some string/twine and let the kids paint them.

You can make hand print leafs with paint or you can just trace their hands and use the outline.

19. Leaf Spray Painting

This activity calls for a walk around the neighborhood to find leaves. What a great way to teach the kids about Fall by find all the fallen leaves.

Fill a spray bottle with some water spray paint for kids and have a great time.

20. Fall Lift The Flap Board

Flap boards are always fun to create for any occasion!

21. Sticky Wall Fall Tree

This Fall tree craft will keep your toddler busy for a while. They really have a lot of fun with these fine motor skill activities.

This sticky tree is made up of contact paper to create an instantly sticky surface for your fall tree.

22. Pumpkin Color Mixing

This super easy fall craft just requires a plastic bag, a jack o’lantern drawing and red and yellow paint. 

Such a fun way to teach toddlers about color mixing!

23. Dissolving Pumpkins

Any activity that involves candy is usually a win with kids. This Fall science project is definitely on my wishlist to do this Fall.

24. Nature Crown

All though this isn’t technically a Fall themed craft, you can make it more “Fall” by painting leaves, rocks and sticks for the crown can help achieve that Fall vibe! Use all the Fall colors tones of red, orange, yellow and brown.

25. Pipe Cleaner Corn

This fall craft is one of my favorites! Who knew pipe cleaners and beads can make corn?
